This area has three sets of murals and provides pedestrianised links to Colchester Town Station and Mersea road.

EUDO

Eudo de Rie was the Steward of Normandy. In 1101 he was ordered by King Henry I to complete the building of Colchester Castle. He also founded St John’s Abbey of which only the gateway still survives on St John’s Green. He died in 1120 in France and was buried in St John’s Abbey. A statue of him can be found on the Town Hall.
